Car Notes
2007.12.19 Ebay

Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States

1998 factory Camaro SS with LS1 V8, T-tops, excellent Michelin Pilot tires with about 6K miles, new rims, subframe conectors, tower brace, power programmer software installed and SLP loudmouth 2 exhaust. Very fast, powerful car and very tight on the road. No airbags now as it was in a minor, low speed (25 MPH), front end accident late last year and salvaged by insurance company due to cost of airbag replacement ($5500). Car was repaired and I have driven it daily since, including a 3000 mile round trip to Omaha, so everything is working fine. Have all receipts since the car was new. Always has run Mobil 1 oil with 3000 mile change interval. Excellent interior with leather and cold air. Mileage is under 75,000. It really is a very nice affordable SS Camaro and I hate to sell it but I have too many cars. Title said salvage when purchased, doesn't now once I registered it. I did see the parts that were replaced and it wasn't that bad, mostly just the front air dam, first 10 inches of the hood, radiator, air box and the windshield. Apparently it was just enough to deploy the airbags. Looks good and gets lots of comments. It's an animal at lower altitudes. You get all records for the car, the power programmer and a full set of factory repair manuals. Drive it home.
A little background:
I bought the car after it was repaired. I contacted the owner that was driving the car when it had the accident. He was the original owner and had ordered the car new. He was sick about the accident and he gave me all the paperwork for the car since new. He confirmed the mileage was in fact the correct mileage. Carfax says "mileage discrepancy" but that was because it has a digital dash and the owner only knew the approximate mileage at the time of the accident. 68,000 miles was entered on the accident report when it was in fact 67,380. Thus the Carfax descrepancy.
Negatives:
Air bag light is on since no air bags.
If you spin the rear tires above 20 MPH it will turn on the ABS light. Book says that is normal.
I think the hood and left fender should be repainted. The wing is faded too so maybe the whole car. It looks good though. It's dirty from the weather in the pic but it's too cold out to wash it today.
